Authorities in Zimbabwe are keen for former longtime President Robert Mugabe to be buried with all his honors in a tomb outside the capital and to be escorted to the last mourning ceremony by prominent African leaders. Mugabe’s family, however, wants to honor his last wish and bury him modestly, in his hometown.

The family of longtime former Zimbabwean President Robert Gabriel Mugabe is fighting a battle with authorities over his funeral and the question of where he will be buried.

Important members of the ruling party want his remains buried in a tomb at the top of a hill, just outside the capital city of Harare, and will be last accompanied by a mournful ceremony at a national stadium attended by senior African leaders.

Meanwhile, immediate family members, his second wife Grace, and friends recall that he had repeatedly made clear before his death that he wanted to be…

“Reading Ernest Hemingway’s  The Sun Also Rises’ written in 1926, I noted several references to HL Mencken, an American writer, satarist, et al .

Fascinated by his influence on some of the characters, I googled him to find this- written in 1920 –  among many wonderful quotes…

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

The Turkey Moments…

Typical introduction dialogue

I know someone could have blogged about this topic before but I would like to add a new perspective. As an international student, I have had many funny moments, to some these moments can be derogatory, racist or belittling.

Everyone is curious but the level of curiosity exhibited by some parts of the Turkish society is awesome, it simply leaves you with a lot to admire.

Yes I know, being a ‘person of color’ makes one outstanding especially in a society that is predominantly ‘white’. It is not a miscarriage of justice to state that Turkish people weren’t exposed to ‘people of color’ for a long time up until the turn of the new millenium.

These moments are first hand experiences and the conversation was made up from interacting with many people.

The first step to know someone is by asking them who they are, where they…

It’s perfectly fine for people at the highest level of an
establishment to have less knowledge about certain issues, but to publicly
display and almost gloat over your own ignorance, requires certain amount of dim-wittedness,
which is difficult to possess.

If there’s one country which has the capability to master this art is Pakistan. Following is a list to expose Pakistan’s dilutions and lack to proper education that has contributed to it becoming a rogue state.

Chandrayaan-2 and
Pakistan’s obsession: –

Early Saturday morning India’s Chandrayaan-2 faced a jolt, when ISRO lost contact with Vikram Lander. This was enough for so called Federal Minister for Science & Technology Government of Pakistan to mock and ridicule India and ISRO. Have a look at some of his tweets: –
